Eat'N Park Celebrates Smiley's 25th Birthday

Restaurant chain is offering 99-cent kids meals through Friday.

Kids eat cheap at Eat’n Park Restaurants this week to help its well-known mascot celebrate his birthday.

A 99-cent Kids Meals promotion, which ends Friday, caps off the 25th birthday celebration of Smiley.

Smiley has been making appearances at local Eat’n Park Restaurants and will continue to do so throughout the summer. He will be at the St. Alexis Parish Festival Friday in Wexford.

In addition to the 99-cent meals, children will receive a free birthday treat bag with stickers, temporary tattoos, a collectible Smiley wristband and, of course, a Smiley cookie.

“Smiley loves kids – he feels like he’s one of them. So, of course, he wanted to celebrate his 25th birthday with kids,” Kevin O’Connell, senior vice president of marketing, said in a statement.

The birthday season for Smiley kicked off with a party at the Carnegie Science Center on June 25. Fellow mascots, including the Pirate Parrot, the Pitt Panther, the Penn State Nittany Lion, Kenny the Kangaroo and several pierogies from the PNC Park Pierogi Races, showed up to celebrate with Smiley and his friends.
