Pine-Richland Schools Superintendent Mary Bucci Receives 3 Percent Pay Raise

Bucci, whose contract has not been renewed, voluntarily declined a pay raise in the previous school year.

After voting in October not to renew Superintendent Dr. Mary Bucci's contract when it expires, the Pine-Richland School Board voted unanimously Monday to give her a 3 percent pay increase—boosting her annual salary to $139,256 for the 2012-13 school year. The increase comes more than four months into the school district's fiscal year because the board was waiting for Bucci's evaluation to be completed, board Secretary Tara Bennett said. The pay increase is retroactive to July 1, the beginning of the school district's fiscal year. Her contract ends June 30. Really? You would have to see her contract. I am sure the contract has some sort of clause that after the evaluation is complete Dr Bucci is entitled to a pay increase. A pay increase has nothing to do with a contractual renewal. It looks like the Board wants to change direction of the district. Budgets cuts are always hard.
