Powerball Jackpot Reaches $600 Million for Saturday's Drawing

The Powerball jackpot was boosted to $600 million, or a $376.9 million cash prize for the Saturday, May 18, drawing after none of the tickets sold Wednesday matched the winning numbers. The multi-state mega-lottery had rolled to a $475 million value after Wednesday's drawing, but increased by $125 million Thursday afternoon as a result of strong ticket sales, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery. $1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold in Butler County

One of the three $1 million winning Powerball tickets in Pennsylvania was sold in Butler County.

One of the three $1 million winning Powerball tickets in Pennsylvania was sold in Butler County, the Pennsylvania Lottery confirmed Thursday afternoon. The winning ticket, which matched the first five numbers but missed the Powerball number, was sold at the Planet Mart convenience store near Saxonsburg, according to the lottery. The other two $1 million winning Powerball tickets in Pennsylvania were sold in Altoona and Montgomery County. Lottery officials said they would not know the identities of the winners until they come forward and claim their prize by calling them at 717-702-8146. Powerball Jackpot Reaches $500 Million

Get your tickets to cash in on the largest Powerball jackpot in history.

If you can manage to get to local stores to buy a Powerball ticket by 9:59 p.m. Wednesday, you could be millions of dollars richer. The estimated Powerball jackpot was boosted to $500 million today, after previously sitting at $425 million, according to the Powerball website. Lottery officials have described this as the largest jackpot in its history with an estimated cash payout of $327.4 million. The previous top windfall of $365 million was claimed by eight co-workers in Lincoln, NE, in 2006. Powerball numbers on Saturday claimed more than 2 million winners on the Nov. 24 drawing, but no jackpot winners were among the 42 participating states. Cranberry Shop ‘n Save Sells Lottery Ticket Worth $1 Million

There could be a new millionaire living in the Cranberry area. The Pennsylvania Lottery confirmed one Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold Friday at the Cranberry Shop ‘n Save on Freedom Road. As of Tuesday morning, store manager John Barley said no one has stepped forward yet to claim the winning ticket. “We’re all anxious to see who it is,” said Barley, who added he hopes it is one of the grocer’s regular customers. The numbers on the ticket, 05-06-13-36-50, correctly matched all five white balls, but not the red Powerball 13, for a $1 million second-tier prize.
