Nearby: Photo Shop Coming Back to Shoppes at Northway

The new store is expected to open in early May.

A new photo shop is moving into the Shoppes at Northway. Premier Imaging plans to open at the location of the old Ritz Camera shop sometime in early May. Ritz moved out in September of 2012, after its corporate parent sold the stores to a liquidator. In November, three former Ritz managers reopened the Ritz location in Monroeville Mall as Premier Imaging. "We won't be selling as much new camera merchandise as Ritz did," said John Kendelhardt, a Premier Imaging employee who worked for the Ritz Northway store.  According to its web site, the new store will offer: Kendelhardt said it's too early to tell what will happen when the mall undergoes its planned redevelopment. Nearby: Ross Police Beef Up Patrols After Four Burglaries

There have been four break-ins since Oct. 17 in homes within a mile of the Northway Mall.

Ross Township police are spending a lot of extra time in several neighborhoods in the vicinity of Northway Mall, where a burglar or burglars struck four times within a week. "The increased patrols include patrol cars, bicycle patrol, and plain-clothes officers in unmarked cars," said Detective Brian Kohlhepp. In the first burglary at a Babcock Boulevard home on Oct. 17, a weapon may have been taken. "There were a number of firearms in plain sight at the residence of the first burglary that were passed over by the burglar," said Kohlepp. "There is one firearm currently being considered.  It is unknown at this time if it was taken by the burglar." The break-in on Oct. 17 was the first of four. The others that followed were: All four …
