Try These Hanukkah Recipes During the Festival of Lights

Make these brisket, latke, and sufganiyot recipes for Hanukkah.

This year, Hanukkah begins on the evening of Saturday, Dec. 8, and ends on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 16. Observing the Festival of Lights goes hand-in-hand with making special Hanukkah foods. Before you light the menorah, make sure you have all the ingredients for some great brisket, latke, and sufganiyot. Although there are many recipes, below are a few to try during the eight nights. News Nearby: The Fresh Market Joins Growing List of New Grocery Stores in Area

The Fresh Market will be the first in Pittsburgh and the third in Pennsylvania.

The Fresh Market will open its first store in western Pennsylvania. Mt. Lebanon commissioners gave final approval last week for the gourmet supermarket chain to demolish the old Roth Carpet store on the corner of Route 19 and Connor Road and construct a new building. The Fresh Market representatives have said that construction will begin as soon as possible. It will be the latest addition to Pittsburgh area grocery stores. Shoppers in the Pine-Richland area have seen grand openings for several grocery stores in the past year—ALDI, Market District and Whole Foods. The Fresh Market's application had been under consideration since last summer. Mt. Lebanon officials had concerns about traffic. Two new driveways will be built along Connor Road…

Whole Foods Market in Wexford to Open May 2

Grand opening will include music and product demonstrations throughout the store.

When Whole Foods Market in Wexford opens its doors May 2, it will take a unique twist on the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony. A bread-breaking ceremony will be held in advance of the 10 a.m. official opening for the store at 10576 Perry Highway that features natural and organic foods. Live music and product demonstrations throughout the store will be part of the day's festivities.
