Police said the five suspects, working together, grabbed pricey handbags off the displays and were gone in less than a minute.
Ross Township police have released photos of the five people suspected of a coordinated-shoplifting hit on the Louis Vuitton store in the Ross Park Mall. Police said the five walked into the store around 8 p.m. Thursday, and working together, grabbed the pricey handbags off the displays and were gone in about 30 seconds. By the time employees realized what was going on it was too late. "The employees did attempt to confront the actors when they fled the store," said Detective Brian Kohlhepp. "No one was injured and no customers were ever in danger." Kohlhepp said the group left the mall in a car, but there is not a good description of the vehicle. "The group appears to be a mix of males and females all in their 20s or early 30s and all …

Should you be one of those traditional folks who don't believe in Black Friday shopping until it's actually Black Friday, however, here's what you need to know about shopping opportunities in the northern suburbs. Plenty of Black Friday deals are out there around Pine-Richland and throughout the North Hills and Cranberry. Among them is Nordstrom, which proudly trumpets its longstanding tradition of not putting up Christmas decorations or starting holiday sales until the day after Thanksgiving. The pair was caught with nearly $5,000 worth of merchandise in a rented pickup truck on McKnight Road.
A mother coerced her 14-year-old daughter to go on a high-end shoplifting spree inside Ross Park Mall Sunday, before police nabbed them on McKnight Road, according to Ross Township police. Kate Spiker, 36, of Sharpsburg, was seen snatching high-end purses inside Nordstrom, according to police. Her daughter was outside, behind the wheel of a rented pickup truck, waiting while her mother made several trips in and out of various shops with the loot, police said. “They took nearly $5,000 worth of merchandise,” said Ross Twp. Police Sgt. Ben Dripps. “High-end merchandise such as purses, nightwear, lingerie—all stuff women would love. Bryan Lamar Porter Jr., 18, faces a felony count of forgery.
Ross Township police have charged a Pittsburgh man with using fake $100 bills to buy merchandise inside Ross Park Mall. Bryan Lamar Porter Jr., 18, is charged with a felony count of forgery and two misdemeanor counts of theft. He also is charged with possessing an instrument of crime. “This wasn't Monopoly money or some low-end quality. It was very high end, a high quality that the Secret Service is interested in,” Ross Township Police Sgt. Ben Dripps told WTAE-TV. Police say Porter used five fake $100 bills on July 20 to buy a belt at the Louis Vuitton store inside the mall and then tried to return another item. The cashier suspected something wasn’t quite right and gave Porter the same fake money back for his return, police said. “It …
