It’s Official—Pine-Richland Hires New Superintendent

Dr. Brian R. Miller will start at the district in July.

It’s official—Pine-Richland School District has new leadership in place. At Monday’s school board meeting, officials voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Brian R. Miller to a four-year contract as superintendent of schools. Miller, who currently is assistant superintendent of K-12 education at neighboring North Allegheny School District, begins at Pine-Richland July 1. He will be paid a salary of $153,500. School Board President Peter Lyons praised Miller, 40, during the meeting for his “frank communication style” throughout the hiring process as well as his ability to articulate his methods and goals for the district.  “In this process, we sought out candidates locally and nationally and engaged in detailed conversations with candidates about…

Dr. David Foley to Serve as Interim Superintendent for Pine-Richland Schools

Pine-Richland School Board voted unanimously to name Foley to the post.

Dr. David Foley has been tapped to serve as Pine-Richland School District's interim superintendent starting Jan. 9. The assistant superintendent is filling the shoes left empty by Dr. Mary Bucci, who resigned her post effective Jan. 8 after the Pine-Richland School Board notified her that it would not renew her contract when it expired June 30. The Pine-Richland School Board voted unanimously Monday to name Foley to the post and adjust his annual salary to $125,000 while the district searches for a new superintendent. The Pine-Richland School Board is consulting with the Pennsylvania School Board Association in the search for a new superintendent.
