A new North Park Lounge owned by Mark Baranowski will open along East Carson Street this summer.
North Park Lounge is coming to Pittsburgh's Southside. Owner Mark Baranowski, a Pine Township resident, said he recently purchased the old Town Tavern at 2009 East Carson Street. He plans to renovate it with a restaurant on the first floor and an entertainment on the second floor. The North Park Lounge Southside location is scheduled to be open by the end of July or early August. In addition to the original North Park Lounge at 8701 Babcock Boulevard in McCandless, Baranowski also owns the North Park Lounge and Bamboo bar in Cranberry, the Cabana Bar in Wexford, and Bonnie & Clyde’s in the Pine Tree Shoppes in Wexford. A Butler man said protecting a female friend’s honor eventually led him to fire a gun outside the North Park Lounge in Cranberry over the summer. Domenico Lamberto, 32, of Sunset Drive, is charged with recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct while engaged in fighting in the July 22 incident. According to court documents, Lamberto told Cranberry Police his friend, Christina Zarnick, was dancing with an unidentified man at Bamboo Bar near the 2 a.m. closing time when he saw the man pull up the back of Zarnick's dress. Mark Baranowski started his career by buying the original North Park Lounge at 8701 Babcock Boulevard in McCandless. That was 23 years ago. Pine Township restaurateur Mark Baranowski is getting ready to open his fifth eatery. This one will be in Ross Township at the former Sunseri’s restaurant at 3385 Babcock Boulevard; it was once the site of Jergel’s, which moved to Warrendale. Baranowski also owns the North Park Lounge on Babcock Boulevard in McCandless, North Park Lounge and Bamboo bar in Cranberry, the Cabana Bar in Wexford, and Bonnie & Clyde’s, which opened in February at the Pine Tree Shoppes in Wexford. Bonnie & Clyde's is the first "theme restaurant from owner of North Park Lounges in Cranberry and McCandless.
When North Hills restaurateur Mark Baranowski was looking for inspiration for his next venture, he turned to the movies. A fan of films about the gangsters from the 1920s, he came up with Bonnie and Clyde’s, which opened Feb. 15 in the Pine Tree Shoppes, 12087 Perry Highway in Wexford. The site had been home to the Blue Water Tavern. “When Mark took over, he gutted the restaurant and redid everything,” said Bonnie & Clyde’s General Manager Katie Malone. “He loves the gangster theme, he even bought a replica of the infamous duo’s getaway car, a 1937 Cadillac, which is now parked outside the restaurant.” Inside the white sedan sits a mannequin, appearing to be waiting for his accomplice to join him. Overview: Blue Water Tavern is a fun, contemporary restaurant located in Pine Township along Perry Highway at the end of the Pine Tree Shoppes shopping center.
