A call to Northern Regional Police about a suspicious man wandering around houses in a Pine Township neighborhood turned into a four-hour search in the snow and dark that ended with the arrest of a man who is on probation, according to a criminal complaint. Dameian Lee Williams, 41, of Jeannette, was charged with misdemeanor counts of loitering and prowling at night; theft from a motor vehicle and criminal conspiracy after the search that began about 1:30 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 400 block of Pinkerton Road. Because of the fresh snow, officers saw tracks that led from the road to several homes throughout the 300 and 400 blocks, police said. Tyler Gazdik, 19, ordered to stand trial.
A Gibsonia teen served as a lookout and a distraction as his friend burglarized two homes on Ben Miller and Elgro roads in Richland Township in the latter half of 2012, according to testimony from a police detective Wednesday. Tyler Gazdik, 19, is charged with working with the late Stephen Hudec, 20, to burglarize those homes. He also told police he acted alone to take copper pipes and wire coils from a Grubbs Road home in Richland, Hampton Detective Robert Kirsopp testified. Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner ordered Gazdik to stand trial on burglary, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and criminal trespass charges. Four men charged in the Dec. 27 attempted break-in of a Wallace Road home in Pine Township were in court Wednesday for preliminary hearings. William Allen Hohman, 29, of Butler, and Shawn Graham, 34, of Lyndora, waived their preliminary hearings before Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner. Hearings for Edward Eric Hohman, 30, of Russelton, and Keith Hohman, 22, of Butler, were postponed until Jan. 16. Graham was released; the three Hohmans remain in the Allegheny County Jail. Cases against three men charged in the November robbery of the BP convenience store and gas station in Wexford advanced Wednesday to the Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. Following a preliminary hearing, Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner ordered Matthew McDonald, who is charged with being the gunman during the holdup, to stand trial. Co-defendants Travis Hallam, 19, and David Piatt, 21, waived their cases. Both Washington, PA, men are charged with criminal conspiracy. McDonald is charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy and theft. The BP is located along Route 910 in Marshall Township in the T-Bones shopping plaza near the I-79 interchange. A Richland teen was arraigned Thursday on charges related to a rash of burglaries in the Pine-Richland area. Tyler Gazdik, 19, of Gibsonia, was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner on nine felony burglary and conspiracy charges. He also is charged with theft, a misdemeanor. Gazdik was released from the Allegheny County Jail on a $5,000 bond. He is charged with conspiring with 20-year-old Stephen Hudec to burglarize homes on Richland, Elgro and Ben Miller roads in Richland Township as well as a Pine Township home on Summit Circle, the criminal complaint states. Two Washington County men charged in the robbery of a BP in Wexford were arraigned by live streaming over the Internet Thursday morning and bail was set at $50,000 each. Matthew McDonald, 19, and Charles Edward Clark, 21, appeared separately via webcam from the Washington County Jail before Magisterial District Judge William K. Ronald Nelson—who has confessed to robbing banks to pay off drug dealers—waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday on the charge of robbing the First National Bank in McCandless, according to court documents. The 49-year-old Pittsburgh man, who appeared before Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner, is charged with robbing the bank at 1701 Duncan Ave. on the morning of Oct. 4. A man charged with having sexual relations with a 15-year-old Pine Township youth he met through a Craigslist ad has been ordered to stand trial by Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner. Mark Doncic, 52, of Castle Shannon, was held for court Wednesday on six felony counts—statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and two counts of unlawful contact with a minor. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, Stanton D. Levenson. The FBI also is investigating Doncic and intends to prosecute its case in federal court, according to a criminal complaint. The preliminary hearing for a 29-year-old man charged with burglarizing a Pine Township home was postponed until Oct. 17. Matthew Lohr, of Mars, was scheduled to appear Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner. Lohr is charged with felony counts of burglary, receiving stolen property and theft.
