Now That Christmas Is Over, What Do We Do With The Relatives?

A popular place to take holiday visitors is Kennywood for its holiday lights display.

Wondering how to entertain the relatives now that the presents have been opened and the holiday meal is a memory? How about Kennywood? More than 1 million dazzling lights and displays are illuminating Kennywood Park for the holiday season. Kennywood Holiday Lights will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, through Dec. 30. These rides are open during Holiday Lights: Gingerbread Express (Olde Kennywood RR), Merry-Go-Round, Paratrooper, Kangaroo, Ghostwood Estate (with a special holiday theme), Turtle, Auto Race, and up to nine Kiddieland rides. And forget the holiday cookies—the Potato Patch is open! Among the other attractions: Admission is $14.99 a person at the gate, plus a $1 amusement tax. Participating …

Jaws Drop, Cars Stop for Pine-Richland Light Displays

Homes, businesses blaze with holiday cheer.

Nothing says Christmas like lights, lights and more lights.  Add a few giant inflatables and the result is a holiday display that can stop traffic – or at least slow it down.  Here's a selection of don't-miss Pine-Richland residences and businesses with elaborate holiday lights and decorations. Maynard home, 3858 Gibsonia Road, Gibsonia The pizza delivery man never has a hard time finding Linda Maynard's home.  "When I give them my address, they always say, 'Oh, you're the house with all the Christmas decorations,'" she said. Maynard started putting up elaborate Christmas decorations 20 years ago. Now her sons, Drew Maynard and Richard Held, and her daughter, Tracy Slovik, continue the tradition for her.
