Treasure hunting in Pine and Richland

Geocaching is fun, easy and inexpensive.

On days that we may want to try something a bit different than our usual hike, my husband and I will go treasure hunting. Modern day treasure hunters, like us, are finding caches of treasure in dozens of locations in Pine and Richland townships. We are participating in a relatively new worldwide sport, geocaching (pronounced geocashing), and we are called geocachers. Today there are over 1.2 million caches hidden around the world.   Using our hand-held GPS units and information we obtain from the official geocaching Web site, www.geocaching.com, we can find these treasures hidden in parks, parking lots and other public places.
