Men Charged in Robbery of BP in Wexford to Stand Trial

Cases against Matthew McDonald, Travis Hallam and David Piatt advance to Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.

Cases against three men charged in the November robbery of the BP convenience store and gas station in Wexford advanced Wednesday to the Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. Following a preliminary hearing, Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner ordered Matthew McDonald, who is charged with being the gunman during the holdup, to stand trial. Co-defendants Travis Hallam, 19, and David Piatt, 21, waived their cases. Both Washington, PA, men are charged with criminal conspiracy. McDonald is charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy and theft. The BP is located along Route 910 in Marshall Township in the T-Bones shopping plaza near the I-79 interchange. Washington County Man Waives Hearing on Wexford BP Robbery Charges

Hearings postponed for three other defendants in BP robbery case.

Dressed in bright orange shirts and pants issued by the Washington County Jail and cuffed at the wrists and ankles, three defendants charged in the robbery of a BP convenience store in Wexford came to court Wednesday and learned their hearings would be postponed. A fourth defendant—21-year-old Charles Clark Jr. of Taylortown—waived his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner and was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. Matthew McDonald, 19; David Piatt, 21; and Travis Hallam, 19— will be back in Wagner's court on Jan. 2. Bail Set at $50,000 for Two Washington County Men Charged in BP Robbery

Two Washington County men charged in the robbery of a BP in Wexford were arraigned by live streaming over the Internet Thursday morning and bail was set at $50,000 each. Matthew McDonald, 19, and Charles Edward Clark, 21, appeared separately via webcam from the Washington County Jail before Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner, whose courtroom is in McCandless. Wagner asked both men if they had received a written criminal complaint stating the charges against them, to which they answered yes. McDonald is charged with felony counts of robbery and criminal conspiracy and a misdemeanor charge of theft in the Nov. 13 robbery of the BP gas station and convenience store in T-Bones plaza along Route 910 near the Interstate 79 ramps in …

Suspect in Wexford BP Robbery, Other Holdups Released on Bail in October

Court records show Matthew McDonald, 19, was released from jail after posting bond in October. He is awaiting trial for an April case in which he is charged with simple assault and harassment in Washington County.

The Washington County man charged with robbing the BP gas station and convenience store at T-Bones plaza in Wexford and a Chartiers Township gas station Nov. 13 was free on bond at the time of the robberies, according to court documents. Matthew Clark McDonald, 19, now is back in the Washington County Jail, unable to post $100,000 bond. He is one of four men named Tuesday as suspects in the BP holdup and in holdups in other communities around Allegheny and Washington counties. "These individuals are also involved in robberies in Washington, Chartiers Township, Upper St. Clair and Castle Shannon," Northern Regional Police Chief T. Robert Amann said. Robert Amann. "These individuals are also involved in robberies in Washington, Chartiers Township, Upper St. Clair and Castle Shannon," Amann said.
