Wexford Volunteer Fire Company Receives New Communications Equipment Through Grant

Residents in Pine Township will be safer thanks to a $5,251 grant given to the Wexford Volunteer Fire Company for communications equipment. Allied Insurance Brokers and Fireman's Fund Insurance Company are awarding the grant, which will enable more firefighters to communicate with each other—and other responding agencies—at the scene of an emergency. Specifically, the fire department is purchasing mobile radios and related equipment to meet Federal Communications Commission requirements, a statement from Fireman's Fund Insurance Company said.
