Fairgrieve School of Dance
724-443-9110
Fairgrieve School of Dance is known for its tap dancing instruction: it was here where Gene Kelley learned the art of tap. The Fairgrieve School of Dance was founded in 1923 by Ruth Fairgrieve Heriot; then school was passed onto her daughter. The current owner, Jennifer McGrath, has 27 years of dance experience and 20 years' experience in instruction. The school teaches tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, hip-hop, lyrical, acrobatics and modern dance to adults and children. Fairgrieve is built on the premise that dance is an art, not a sport, and does not encourage competition. They value teaching students equally, regardless of experience or innate talent.
