Five Things You Need to Know: Back to School, Dots and Doodles Grand Opening, Greek Food Festival

What’s going on in your child’s school? Find out in person when Pine-Richland officials meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Pine-Richland High School for the school board’s regular meeting.

2. First Day of School for Pine-Richland

Are your backpacks ready? Pine-Richland students head back to class Wednesday, Aug. 28.

3. Dots and Doodles Grand Opening

Dots and Doodles Art Studio, located at 10925 Perry Highway, Wexford, will celebrate its grad opening at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 with art, food and fun. The studio offers art classes, birthday parties, open studio hours and more for tots, teens and adults.

4. Holy Trinity Greek Food Festival

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, located at Babcock Boulevard and Cumberland Road in McCandless, will hold its annual Taste of Greece food festival Wednesday, Aug. 28 through Sunday, Sept. 1.

The event will include food, Greek wine, entertainment, activities and more

5. Guided Kayak Tour at North Park Lake

Explore nature in a kayak and receive paddling instructions courtesy of L.L. Bean at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 at the North Park Lake. The cost is $20 per person. Children must be at least 8 years old to participate.

This course takes place every Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 13.
