Five Things to Know: Kennywood Day, Field Hockey and Pure Gold

1. Pine-Richland School Board Meeting

What’s going on in your child’s school? Find out in person when Pine-Richland officials meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Pine-Richland High School for the school board’s planning meeting.

2. 2013 Fall Youth Field Hockey Registration

Registration is now open for Pine-Richland girls fall field hockey programs.

A program for girls in grade kindergarten through third grade takes place Aug. 25 through Oct. 6.

The youth league for girls in grades four through six takes place Aug. 25 through Oct. 20. No prior experience is required.

3. Movies in the Park

Attend a free showing of “The Muppets” at dusk, Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Pine Park. Refreshments will be sold at the concession stand. 

An adult must accompany children age 12 and younger. In case of inclement weather, the movie will be shown the following Wednesday.

4. Pine-Richland Day at Kennywood

Get ready to ride! Pine-Richland Day at Kennywood Park is Friday, Aug. 16.

You can purchase Ride All Day tickets for $28 or after 5 p.m. for $21. The sales will benefit the Pine-Richland Marching Band. The tickets are good on Pine-Richland day or all summer. Click here for more information.

5. Pure Gold at Kean Theatre

Pure Gold will perform a fun-filled and energetic show—one that is sure to get audiences out of their seats and dancing to the beat of classic favorites from the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s—at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Kean Theatre in Richland.

The cost is $33 to $55 for the show. The cost for the pre-show dinner is $23.
