Gala Supports Hair Peace Charities, Features Local Celebrities

Saturday's gala features live music, a "pink-tini" bar and a silent auction at the Mayernik Center on Camp Horne Road. Money raised helps women with cancer buy wigs.

Culinary delights prepared by local celebrities, a "pink-tini" bar, live music and a silent auction will combine to create a memorable evening for a wonderful cause as Hair Peace Charities hosts its 7th annual Recipe for Hope fundraiser.

The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mayernik Center on Camp Horne Road.

Hair Peace Charities is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005 by Bonny Diver, a local radio personality and a breast cancer survivor. Its mission is to support local women fighting cancer by providing them with the $150 that one wig costs. Hair Peace also offers support through a prayer network and a support circle focusing on healthy options in the long-term life battle over cancer.
