Library Plans Valentine Parties, Computer Class and Fiction Writers Group

is planning special Valentine's Day events, a computer class and a fiction writers critique group meeting.

The library is located at 4015 Dickey Road in Gibsonia/Richland Township.

Bee My Valentine!

The Northern Tier Library, Hampton Community Library and Girl Scout Troop 50738 will team up Feb. 11 to offer two extra-special Valentine’s Day parties. Children ages 5 to 8 are invited to enjoy stories, games, crafts and to make Valentine cards that will be distributed to local nursing homes. 

The 10:30 a.m. program will be at Northern Tier Library. To register, call 724-449-2665. There will be a 1:30 p.m. program at Hampton Community Library. To register, call 412-684-1098.

Valentine's Day Crafternoon

Don’t worry that you can’t find the perfect Valentine (card, that is!)—make it yourself.  Drop by the Northern Tier Library from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 10, and make your own card.  The library will provide the paper, markers and glitter; and you supply the ideas. Introduction to Computers

Are you new to computers? Do you know how to use a mouse or where to find the desktop? Learn the fundamentals of a computer from 2:30-4 p.m. Feb. 10, at Northern Tier Library. This class is designed for those with little or no computer experience. To register, call the library at 724-449-2665.

Fiction Writers' Critique Group

If you are a writer ready for publication and need good input from your peers to polish your fiction, you might want to join the Northern Tier Fiction Critique Group at its twice-monthly meetings. The group members critique novels and short stories with an eye toward helping local writers achieve publication. The group will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 13, and Feb. 27.
