Lottery Starts Friday For Summer Young Naturalist Program at North Park

The popular program provides children and youth with hands-on, outdoor experiences.

The Allegheny County Parks Department will hold a telephone lottery Friday for the Summer Young Naturalist Program at .

The popular program provides children and youth with hands-on, outdoor experiences, investigations and adventures designed to develop a lifelong appreciation and interest in the environment, as well as an awareness of humans' relationship with the natural world.

The program is open to residents of Allegheny County between the ages of 6 and 15.

Sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates: 

Ages 6 & 7 – July 16, 17 & 18

Ages 8 & 9 – July 23, 24 & 25

Ages 10 & 11 – July 30, 31 & Aug. 1

Ages 12 & 13 – Aug. 6, 7 & 8

Ages 14 & 15 – Aug. 20, 21 & 22 

Those interested in registering for the Summer Young Naturalist Program may call 724-935-2170 beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Each session is limited to 10 participants. Up to three children may be registered per call. No age exceptions will be made. The lottery will continue until all sessions are filled.
