Kids Enjoy Pony Rides in Wexford

St. Alphonsus Vacation Bible school treated its campers to pony rides.

Today was the most anticipated day of the week-long vacation church and Bible school at St. Alphonsus Church.  The daily puppet show was put on hold so that the sixty-plus campers could enjoy pony rides around St. Alphonsus School's athletic field.

The ponies were brought in as part of the camp's wild-west theme, "The Legend of the Son-Dance Kid."  Kindergarten through sixth grade campers wore their bandannas, cowboy hats and western vests as they were led around the field on the ponies.  One little girl wore her cowboy boots.

The camp is being run by Louis Bosco, program manager for religious education at St. Alphonsus Church, along with a team of adult and junior and senior high school student volunteers.  He hopes to incorporate the pony rides into next year's camp, too.
