Game Change: Pine-Richland vs. Seneca Valley Game Switched to New Date

The change is to accommodate Root Sports TV's broadcast of the game.

Eager Rams fans will need to show up at Pine-Richland stadium earlier than expected this week.

The football team’s game against WPIAL Northern Eight Conference rival Seneca Valley has been from moved from Friday, Sept. 6 to Thursday, Sept. 5.

The change is to accommodate Root Sports TV, which will be broadcasting the game live from the stadium. The matchup is featured as the McDonald's High School Football Game of the Week.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. 

Both the Rams and the Raiders are at 1-0 in the standings after last week's start of the regular season.

In their first game under new head coach Eric Kasperowicz, Pine-Richland easily defeated the Fox Chapel Foxes by a score of 49-18.

The Rams' Connor Slomka rushed 30 times for 172 yards and five touchdowns in Friday’s game.

Quarterback Ben DiNucci also completed 10-of-14 passes for 244 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown pass to Austin Goncz.

With a mostly new starting lineup in place, Seneca Valley breezed by the host Butler Tornadoes, winning the game 28-3.

Junior T.J. Holl had touchdown runs of 13 and 2 yards. Mason Dehart also scored at the 1 and 7 yard lines.

The game was another winning start for Seneca Valley. The team finished the regular season 8-1 last year and made it to the WPIAL Class AAAA semifinals before being defeated by the state champion North Allegheny Tigers.
