4th Annual Pittsburgh Superhero Foundation 1K or 5K Run/Walk

Every child needs a hero but abused children need superheroes.  The 4th Annual Pittsburgh Superhero Foundation 5K Run/Walk and 1K Family Run is a family event to raise funds and awareness to help prevent child abuse and aid abuse victims.  Costumes are not required - but add to the fun. Registration is at 8am.  The 1K kicks off at 9am with the 5K immediately following.  All proceeds benefit CASA of Allegheny County. The Mission of CASA of Allegheny County is to ensure that every child has a safe, supportive and permanent home by providing volunteer advocacy for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the child welfare system.

First 50 online registrants will get a cape (cape will be distributed at the event). Next 50 will get a mask and Wrist Blasters. If you want to create your own cape you can go to www.powercapes.com (use discount code HERORUN2012) or you can order a superhero cape when you register if you are not one of the first 100! - The count of registrants until 100 will be posted nightly.

As of Feb. 1, no capes are left, but there are 47 masks/wrist blasters.

Each registration comes with 2 raffle tickets. You are guaranteed a t-shirt if you register before March 28.

The organization has applied to break the record for the most people dressed as a superhero at one place so please spread the word and come in costume. If you don't have one you can always purchase a cape at the event.

You can register as an individual or a team of 2 - 5 participants, there will be team costume contests and prizes. When registering a team it will not accept until there are at least 2 participants. The team must all register for either the 5k or 1K

Don't forget to set up your fundraising page when you register. Every individual to raise$100 gets a cape, raise $250 get a cape and a prize. Every team to raise $400 gets capes, raise $1,000 you all get capes and a prize.
