Dan Bylsma Invites Pine-Richland Grad to Olympic Orientation Camp

Brandon Saad is one of two Pittsburgh 2014 Olympic hopefuls.

Former Pine-Richland High School hockey star Brandon Saad is part of USA Hockey's 48-person invitation list for next month's Olympic orientation camp, according to USA Today.

Saad is one of two Pittsburgh natives invited by Penguins and Team USA's coach Dan Bylsma. Whitehall native John Gibson is also a 2014 Olympic hopeful.

Saad was the first Pittsburgh-born, Pittsburgh-trained player to have his name etched on the Stanley Cup last month when he helped the Chicago Blackhawks to a championship in his rookie season, according to the Tribune Review.

The camp will begin on Aug. 26.
