Contestants are encouraged to create videos about "events of people that began in Pittsburgh and had an impact on the world at large, or they can make films that feature their own big ideas to change the world," according to the contest website.

"The contest furthers the belief that with a camera, an idea, and a voice, you can change the world, and that film is a viable way to examine and spur meaningful social change," the website states.

Public online voting ends today, then winners will be announced at the "Take a Shot at Changing the World" Film Festival at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Heinz History Center.

Admission is free, but space is limited. RSVP to Rachel@steeltown.org to reserve a seat.
