Report: St. Alexis Student Suspended for Making Gun Threats

McCandless police are reportedly not happy after learning of the matter three days later.

A sixth-grader at St. Alexis School in Wexford has been suspended for the remainder of the school year after allegedly threatening to shoot himself and his classmates, according to the Associated Press.

McCandless police told the AP the student "got very angry" and made the threats after he was caught cheating May 9 on a test.

Police said the following day, parents of several students who were present told the principal the boy was heard saying he had a bullet for himself and 14 others for his classmates, the AP reports.

McCandless police told the AP they were not happy that officials at the Catholic school handled the matter internally and waited three days to alert them.

Michael Latusek, superintendent of schools for the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese, said he'll meet with school officials to ensure they know how and when to report such matters to the police.
