PRHS Expansion/Renovation Project 'Making Progress,' Superintendent Says

Pine-Richland School Board plans to tour site on Wednesday.

Superintendent Dr. Mary Bucci informed the Pine-Richland School Board that construction on is progressing and school will open on time.

Faculty will return Aug. 31 and students will start school Sept. 6, the day after Labor Day, she told the board at Monday's planning meeting.

Kitchen equipment will be moved into the renovated kitchen soon, she said, and as she outlined other progress that is being made each day.

The parking lot in front of the high school will be ready for paving soon and new light poles will be erected, she said.

In addition to kitchen and cafeteria renovations, the project also calls for expanding the administration area of the school, renovating the LGI (large group instruction) classroom, replacing the roof and other improvements.

An addition will include Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math classrooms.

The project is scheduled for completion in time for the 2012-13 school year.
