  • Introducing the student to the construction industry in a positive and challenging manner
  • Fostering a sense of self-worth and building confidence

The contest was sponsored nationally by the NAWIC and locally by Lami Grubb Architectural firm, which provided a "design problem" for contestants.

Project drawings were required to include a minimum: a floor plan, exterior elevation and site plan and placement of structure. National winners will receive prizes.

Tyler's family told the school district he worked extremely hard for months on the project. In addition, he received excellent guidance on the project from PR teacher Jeff Maple.

Tyler also earned first place in the regional competition.
