The International Thespian Society at Pine-Richland High School is performing The Giver tonight (Friday) at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m. under the direction of teacher John Dolphin.
Tickets are $7 at the door at the high school.
The Giver is based on Lois Lowry’s Newbery-Award-winning book about a utopia in which there is no pain and no joy. The characters in the story are assigned their roles in society when they are 12 years old.

When Jonas turns 12, he is assigned to be the Receiver of Memories. He works with the Giver, who maintains memories of the world as it once existed—with joy, love, violence and fear.
