Pine-Richland Teacher Injured in Auto Accident

Jill Linsz is listed in fair condition at UPMC Presbyterian in Oakland.

A Pine-Richland music teacher is recovering in a hospital after a three-vehicle accident on Valencia Road in northern Richland Township.

Jill Linsz, 52, of Seven Fields was driving south on Valencia Road Sunday when her 2007 Toyota RAV4 crossed the center line, struck a 2008 Saturn Vue and collided head-on with a pickup truck, according to a  report from Northern Regional Police Department. Police released the report Tuesday.

A UPMC spokesperson said she is in fair condition at UPMC Presbyterian in Oakland.

Linsz teaches music at Richland and Hance elementary schools, according to information from the school district.

She also is active in a number of education-related organizations.

As president of the Pine-Richland Education Association, Linsz led the team that negotiated the organization's two-year contract with the Pine-Richland School Board last year.

She was honored in 2009 by the Pennsylvania State Education Association’s Western Region at its ninth annual “Friends of Education Dinner”.

Linsz also is a non-voting trustee of the Pine-Richland Opportunities Fund, which awards grants and scholarships to students and teachers in the school district.

Her Facebook page says she has worked for the Pine-Richland School District since August 1981. She graduated from Hempfield Area Senior High School in 1977, according to her Facebook page. Linsz is listed as a 1981 graduate and contributor to Seton Hill University on its website
