Nearby: Bomb Threat Found in a North Allegheny School Bathroom, Security Increased

A detailed bomb threat was discovered in a boy's bathroom shortly before noon Thursday, according to a letter posted on the district website.

North Allegheny school officials cancelled an orchestra concert scheduled for Thursday night at Carson Middle School after a detailed bomb threat was discovered in a boy's bathroom earlier in the day.

In a letter posted on the district's website, Carson Principal Katherine Jenkins and Brian Miller, assistant superintendent of K-12, said that the McCandless police were called, the school was evacuated, and bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to sweep the campus. Security will also be in the school overnight.

A number of security precautions will be taken throughout the day on Friday, Dec. 21, the letter stated.
