Icy Roads Mean P-R Schools Opening Two Hours Late

Kindergarten is on modified schedule.

Because of icy roads, Pine-Richland schools are opening two hours later than usual this morning.

Kindergarten classes will operate on a modified schedule.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 3 a.m. that remains in effect until 8 a.m. because of a mix of freezing rain and snow "with a coating of ice up to one-tenth inch".

"Untreated surfaces will likely become slippery with accumulations of ice into early Tuesday morning," according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing mark Tuesday morning, NWS reported. It warned motorists to use caution when driving because of slippery roads and limited visibility.
