Pine-Richland Trounces Fox Chapel 28-5 in Football Season Opener

The Pine-Richland Rams' fourth-quarter performance in Friday's season opener ensured a 28-5 win over Fox Chapel.

Here's a quarterly summary of the game played at Pine-Richland stadium.


SECOND QUARTER: A 32-yard touchdown play from Rams QB Ben DiNucci to tight end Collin Jackson put Pine-Richland on the board late in the second quarter.

SECOND QUARTER: With seconds left in the half, Fox Chapel's Ben Mroz kicked a field goal.

HALFTIME: Pine-Richland Rams lead 6-3 over Fox Chapel.

THIRD QUARTER: Fox Chapel missed a field goal with 4:25 left in quarter. Pine-Richland leads 6-3.

FOURTH QUARTER: 36-yard TD from Ram QB Ben DiNucci to Luke Merhaut. Two-point conversion good—DiNucci to Nate Roberts. Score at 11:40 in fourth quarter: Pine-Richland 14 Fox Chapel 3

FOURTH QUARTER: Pine-Richland widens lead to 21-3 over Fox Chapel at 9:51 in quarter. Running back Conner Slomka scored. Ben Engel kicked extra point.

FOURTH QUARTER: Fox Chapel scores 2 points on a safety. Ram punter Grant Goldberg put his knee down in end zone after getting a low snap. PR 21 FC 5

FOURTH QUARTER: Ram defensive back Mike Merhaut intercepted a Fox Chapel pass in the end zone with 5:00 left in game.

FOURTH QUARTER: PR touchdown on one-yard run by Conner Slomka. Extra point by Ben Engel good. Pine-Richland 28 Fox Chapel 5 with 1:15 left in game.
