Bomb Threat at Middle School Investigated, Nothing Found

Threat discovered on locker room wall.

A bomb threat was discovered Thursday evening on a locker room wall at Pine-Richland Middle School, according to school officials.

Northern Regional Police Department did a sweep of the building and found it to be clear, said the communications director for Pine-Richland School District, Rachel Hathhorn, in an e-mail sent to middle school parents and staff.

As a precaution, police were scheduled to make a second sweep.

"The police made a second sweep with dogs this morning (Friday) and gave the all-clear," Hathhorn said. No students or staff were permitted to enter the building until after 7 a.m.

Middle school parents and staff were notified by phone and email through the district's automated communication system.

Hathhorn emphasized that the district makes safety a top priority.
