Nearby: Emiliano's Restaurant Leaving North Hills Location

The owner of the Mexican restaurant chain is hoping to find a new location in the area.

Emiliano's Restaurant in McIntyre Square will close at the end of the month. Owner Benny Ulloa said he was unable to reach agreement on a new lease with the building's owner.

"I want to thank the people in the North Hills for their six years of patronage," he said. "We are looking for a new location, hopefully along McKnight Road, we just haven't found the right opportunity yet."

Emiliano's has restaurants on Pittsburgh's South Side at 2557 East Carson Street, in Gibsonia at 5375 William Flynn Highway, and a new location is opening soon at the site of the former CiCi's Pizza in the Cranberry Mall on Route 19.

Ulloa said closing the North Hills restaurant is tough.

"The restaurant is named after my son, who is now six years old. He grew up at the North Hills restaurant," he said. "I'm really sad to leave."

Ulloa said the North Hills store will close by the end of this month, and will be timed with the opening of the Cranberry location.

"For the most part, the people working in the North Hills will come up to Cranberry," he said. "There should not be a big time lapse between the closing and opening."

Ulloa said he has had discussions with and the former McCrackin Ford at 7209 McKnight Road.

"Those locations are kind of on the back burner right now," said Ulloa. "We will have to wait and see what the developer has in mind."

Ulloa also inquired about space in McCandless Crossing, but was told no space was available at the moment.
