Supervisors Approve Landscaping Contract for New Multipurpose Fields at Pine Park

A. Liberoni of Plum awarded $147,750 contract.

Crabapple trees, Norway spruce, maples and shrubs will be part of the landscaping used as screening around the new multipurpose fields in .

The Pine Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 Monday to award a $147,750 landscaping contract to A. Liberoni Inc. of Plum.

Supervisor Frank Spagolo voted against the contract. Supervisors Chairman Michael Dennehy, Vice Chairman Philip Henry, and Supervisors Ted Owen and Edward Holdcroft voted in favor.

The fields along Pearce Mill Road, diagonal from probably will not be ready for play until the spring of next year, said Parks and Recreation Director Joni Patsko.

Lacrosse and soccer team representatives already have approached the township about using the fields, Patsko said.

The perimeter plantings will provide screening for the neighbors, said Assistant Township Manager Scott Anderson. 

More than 100 trees, 124 shrubs, seeding, grading and split-rail fencing are included in the landscaping contract, said Anderson.
