Richland Supervisors Go Through Rite of Reorganization

Herbert Dankmyer and Raymond Kendrick re-elected chairman and vice chairman, respectively.

There's an old saying that Richland Township seems to follow: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Apparently, the way government functions in the northern Allegheny County township is just fine. So Tuesday night's organizational meeting held no surprises; everything continues basically the same.

Chairman Herbert Dankmyer and Vice Chairman Raymond Kendrick were re-elected to their posts.

Dean Bastianini, who recently celebrated his 30-year anniversary with the township, was reappointed manager and treasurer. Gerald Reichert was reappointed assistant manager.

Solicitor Charles Means of Goehring, Rutter and Boehm;

Shoup Engineers as township and sanitary sewer engineer;

Trans Associates as traffic engineer;

Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust & Mars National Bank as the bank for depository;

Pine Creek Journal/Tribune Review North as the official newspaper for legal advertising.

Appointments to various boards include:

George Kane to a five-year term on the Municipal Authority;

Joseph Pillart Jr. to a four-year term on the Planning Commission;

Margo Jochims to a three-year term on the Zoning Hearing Board;

Jacquelyn Cummings and Rosemary Zidow to three-year terms on the Library Board;

Jeff Walzer to the Pine Creek Watershed Assessment Steering Committee and the Deer Creek Watershed Assessment Steering Committee;

Annette Robinson to a two-year term; Donna Snyder to a three-year term; and John Pasquinelli and David Batista to four-year terms on the Parks and Recreation Board;

Tim Gaichas, James McChesney, Guy Pedicone Jr., Joseph Pillart, Diane Pontoriero, Scott Rice and Jeffrey Moersch to the Transportation Impact Fee Advisory Committee;

Guy Pedicone to one-year terms as fire marshal and emergency management coordinator and William Wolverton as his assistant in both positions;

Supervisors Skip Allen, Dankmyer and Kendrick to the board of directors of the Northern Regional Police Department, with Supervisors Bart Miller and John Marshall as alternates; 

Miller as the township representative to the Northern Regional Police Pension Plan Committee; and

Marshall as the township representative on the North Hills Council of Governments, with Dankmyer as the alternate delegate.
