Public Meeting Set for Babcock Boulevard Project in North Park

Officials involved with the trails construction project between Wildwood Road and Pearce Mill Road will describe its details, answer questions.

Wondering what that construction project on Babcock Boulevard in  is all about?

A public meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, to discuss the construction, which is part of the North Park Trails Project.

The meeting will be held at the Allegheny County Police and Fire Academy, 700 West Ridge Drive, in North Park.

The work is taking place between Wildwood Road and Pearce Mill Road. When completed, a through lane will be eliminated and replaced with a new bike lane, wider sidewalks and a grass island to improve the separation of pedestrians and motor vehicles. 

The meeting will be hosted by Allegheny County Council Member Jan Rea of McCandless. Rea represents District 2, which covers Pine and Richland townships.

Invited guests include officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Joe Olczak from the County’s Public Works Department, and consultants from Michael Baker Engineering of Moon.
