Pittsburgh International Airport Receives $750,000 Investment
$4 million will be spent statewide on airport improvements.
Gov. Tom Corbett announced Thursday a $4 million state investment to upgrade Pennsylvania airport facilities, including $750,000 in improvements to the Pittsburgh International Airport.
The investment will be used to improve runways and taxiways at the airport, which it shares with the nearby 911th Air Force Airlift Wing and the 171st Air National Guard Refueling Wing.
The Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin also will receive $75,000 in funding to rehabilitate its terminal and safety building.

"Aviation provides nearly 5 percent of Pennsylvania jobs," Corbett said in a news release. "Investing in these improvements and safety measures helps those thousands of people do their jobs better and will improve airport operations."
