The chairman of the Pine Board of Supervisors was elected to a second three-year term.

Pine Supervisors Chairman Michael J. Dennehy Jr. has been elected to a second term on a state association's executive committee.

Members of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors re-elected Dennehy to its seven-member executive committee at the organization's recent educational conference and trade show in Hershey.

The executive committee and the association’s five officers make up the 12-member executive board, which is responsible for managing the affairs of the state association.

Townships of the second class represent more residents — 5.5 million Pennsylvanians — than any other type of political subdivision in the commonwealth.

Dennehy is currently a member of the association’s audit committee and the Grassroots Lobbying Network, which addresses legislative issues that affect Pennsylvanians who live in a township of the second class. He previously served as chairman of the association’s Townships With Populations Greater Than 5,000 But Less Than 10,000 Committee.

Dennehy is a past president of the Allegheny County Association of Township Officials, where he has also served as first vice president and secretary-treasurer, and currently serves on the Select Municipal Officials Advisory Committee of the Pittsburgh Foundation.

His other township affiliations include supervisor liaison to the Police Pension Trust Committee and the Township Audit Committee, as well as chief administrative officer (alternate) of the township’s nonuniformed pension plan. He also is a supervisor member of the Northern Regional Police Department of Allegheny County.

Dennehy, a retired executive and part-time administrator for a physical therapy practice, serves as a trustee for the Municipal Risk Management Workers’ Compensation Trust and director for the North Pittsburgh Community Development Corp. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Construction Code Review & Advisory Council and the Act 1 Committee for Pine-Richland School District.

Dennehy previously served as a member of the Tom Corbett Transition Team for Local Government and as parish council president for St. Alphonsus Church in Wexford.
