Allegheny Transit Council Elects New Officers

Regent Square man tapped for one-year term as president of volunteer transit-riders group.

The Allegheny County Transit Council, which represents the voice of customers to the Port Authority of Allegheny County, has elected a Regent Square man as its president.

Jim Robinson is the new president of the independent advisory council, a volunteer organization that assesses and brings the concerns of public-transit riders to the Port Authority, according to a statement from the Port Authority. The council, formed in 1984, also works with the Port Authority on transit issues and advocacy.

Council members chose Stuart Strickland of McCandless as their vice president and Beth Kuntz of Brentwood as their treasurer. Their one-year terms begin July 1, according to the Port Authority.
