Slovick said neighborhood kids were swimming in her pool when she heard a number of cars turning around in her driveway.

She asked 16-year-old Jimmy Kelly, who is a volunteer, to check his cell phone for a text alert.

That is when they realized the accident was close to her home.

“I never saw anyone jump out of a pool so fast,” Slovick said.

Richland, West Deer and North Hampton volunteer fire companies worked together with Richland EMS and Hampton EMS to transport the injured woman to the parking lot of , where the STAT MedEvac helicopter landed.

The volunteer firefighters also helped with traffic control and cleanup of the crash site.

Ironically, the accident happened just a few doors down from the home of Richland Volunteer Fire Chief Jim Kelly, who is the father of Jimmy.

Jim's wife, Tina, who also is active with the fire department, said she heard the call on the scanner and ran to the scene "because I was afraid it was my kids."

Another son, Jonathon, said that he did not see the accident happen, but saw that a car had hit and broken the utility pole and flipped onto its roof.
