The team consisted of volunteer firefighters from Wexford and surrounding areas, with 12 skaters and two goalies on the roster.
The game was tight at the start with the score tied at 1-1 after the first period. Team 228 then pulled ahead in the second period and finished the game with the 5-1 win.
"It was an experience that all of us will not forget and we are looking forward to skating again in the future to help raise money for such a great cause," said Brett Harsh, Wexford Station 228's hockey team captain.
The Wexford Volunteer Fire Company serves Pine Township, although the hockey team drew players from all over the Wexford area.
