Two Injured in Motorcycle Accident on I-79

Accident occurred in Sewickley Hills Borough.

Two Canadian residents sustained moderate to major injuries Saturday afternoon when their motorcycle's rear tire blew out as they traveled on I-79, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Roger M. Cherry and Ruth A. Bristow, both of Oakville, Ontario, were traveling northbound on I-79 in Sewickley Hills, when Cherry lost control of the vehicle, police said.

The accident occurred near the Mount Nebo exit.

The cycle rolled onto its right side and slid in the left lane, coming to rest on its right side in the left lane of I-79 and the median strip, the police report stated.

The driver and passenger slid on the road ahead of the motorcycle, police said.
