Two Charged With Stealing Snow Blower From Lowe's

Northern Regional Police Department supplied the following arrest information. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two Pittsburgh men charged with stealing a snow blower valued at $759 from in Richland Township will stand trial in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, according to court documents.

Richard James Beeson, 36, and Mark Edward Tankersley, 46, were charged with retail theft, criminal conspiracy, and receiving stolen property.

Beeson also was charged with driving with a suspended license.

Both were ordered to stand trial by Magisterial District Judge Suzanne Blaschak on Wednesday. Formal arraignments are set for March 20.

The two were stopped Jan. 24 by police officers on Route 910, just west of Hardt Road, with a snow blower hanging out of their car's trunk, the criminal complaint stated.

"Mr. Beeson stated that he did not know why they were being stopped, and added that Mr. Tankersley stated he paid for it," the criminal complaint stated.

A police officer in the Lowe's parking lot was alerted by the store's assistant manager, who ran to the officer's patrol car saying people in a Chevy Cavalier had just taken a snow blower, court documents state.
