Traffic Blotter: Two Rear-End Collisions on Route 19 Occur Minutes Apart

Northern Regional Police Department provided the following information.

A Gibsonia man ran into the back of a Cadillac on Route 19/Perry Highway about 3:10 p.m. Saturday in the area between Wallace and Church roads in Pine Township, according to a report.

Robert Eury, 53, told police he took his eyes off the road and ran into the back of the Cadillac. His 1996 Saturn was towed.

Marlo Vena, 50, of McKees Rocks, said she was going slowly south because all traffic was merging into the left lane because of construction on Perry Highway, police said.

Three-Vehicle Chain Reaction on Route 19

No injuries were reported in a three-vehicle chain reaction on Route 19/Perry Highway at the Wallace Road intersection about 2:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Todd Hartman, 44, of Cranberry, said he saw traffic in front of him was stopping, but he slid on the wet road and ran into the back of a Ford, according to police.

Lauren Zeleznik, 23, of Mars drove the 2005 Ford Escape, which was pushed into a Chevrolet, said police.

The 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt was driven by 23-year-old Amanda Fosnight, of Canton, OH, police said.

Hartman's 2010 Honda Accord was towed.

 

Hit and Run Reported on Route 19 at Brown Road Intersection

A 34-year-old Seven Fields woman reported April 11 that a woman driving a silver Honda Civic ran into the back of her on Route 19 and then drove off, according to a police report.

Nicole Bowan told police she was stopped on northbound Route 19/Perry Highway at the Brown Road red light about 5:15 p.m. when the Honda ran into the back of her and continued to accelerate with the front tires spinning, police said.

Bowan got out of her 2011 Toyota RAV-4 and told the Honda driver to shut off the vehicle, but the "female continued to accelerate, spinning tires while not responding," the police report states.

Bowan then returned to her Toyota and turned onto Brown Road with the Honda still attached to her rear bumper, the police report states. "Upon turning onto Brown, the Honda continued north on Perry."

The Honda's driver is described as being in her thirties, police said.

 

Deer Hit in Richland

A Butler woman was not injured April 9 when her Honda Pilot hit a deer on Dickey Road in Richland Township about 6:30 a.m., police said.

Thelissa Wible, 29, was traveling west on Dickey Road when a deer jumped in front of her Honda, said police.

The deer ran off after being struck.
