Traffic Blotter: Teen Driver Runs into Vehicle at Pine-Richland High School Entrance

Northern Regional Police Department provided the following information.

A teen driver with a learner's permit crashed into a passing minivan about 4 p.m. Monday at the entrance road to Pine-Richland High School, according to a report.

The 16-year-old girl told police she accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake as she approached the stop sign at the Warrendale Road intersection, the report states.

Her 2002 Honda Odyssey accelerated onto Warrendale and collided with a Chrysler Town & Country van that 45-year-old Amy Smithco of Allison Park was driving, police said.

Rear-End Collision on Route 8 at Ewalt Road

A Kia Optima ran into the back of a Chevrolet Cobalt that was waiting to make a left turn about 3:30 p.m. Sunday from Route 8 onto Ewalt Road, police said.

Police identified the Kia driver as 49-year-old Linda Rudge, of Gibsonia.

Maxwell Tilley, 21, of Gibsonia, drove the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, said police.

Tarentum Woman Sent to Hospital After Collision 

A Tarentum woman was transported to the hospital when she complained of chest pains after a March 20 collison in Richland Township, according to Northern Regional Police Department.

Denise Ehrenberger, 38, was traveling east on Route 910/Gibsonia Road about 5:30 p.m. when a Chevrolet Tahoe ran into her vehicle as it pulled out from Community Center Drive, said police.

Police identified the Tahoe driver as Jennifer Jordan, 26, of Butler.
