Traffic Blotter: Man Doesn't Notice Red Light Because of Argument With Wife, Police Report

Northern Regional Police Department provided the following information.

A 55-year-old Allison Park man told police he did not see a red light on Route 19 at the Wallace Road Extension in Pine Township on July 3 because he was arguing with his wife, a report states.

Michael Rinchiuso traveled through the intersection and struck a Volvo making a left turn in front of him about 9:35 p.m., police said.

His wife, Kathleen Peindl, suffered a broken nose from hitting the windshield of their Nissan Versa, according to the report.

McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority transported her to UPMC Passavant, police said.

The Volvo driver, 20-year-old Jessica Pegher, of Sewickley, told police she had a green arrow and was turning left onto Wallace Road Extension from Route 19 northbound when she was struck, the report states.

Four-Vehicle Chain Reaction on Route 8 in Richland Township

An 18-year-old driving a Nissan Quest set off a four-vehicle chain reaction June 28 when she ran into the back of another vehicle on Route 8 in Richland Township, police said.

Ingrid Godfrey, of Wexford, "failed to observe" the three vehicles stopped in front of her about 6:35 p.m. on Route 8 between Kenneth Drive and Ewalt Road, the police report states.

Godfrey's Nissan Quest ran into the back of a Honda Civic driven by 29-year-old Matthew Derby, of New Kensington, police said. It was pushed into a Plymouth Neon driven by Patrick Snyder Jr., 28, of Hunker, PA, which then pushed into a Toyota RAV4 driven by Barbara Moss, 56, of Pittsburgh, according to the police report.

Three-Vehicle Chain Reaction at Route 8-Ranalli Drive Intersection

A three-vehicle chain reaction occurred about 5 p.m. June 28 on Route 8 at Ranalli Drive in Richland Township, police said.

A 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 19-year-old Emily Thoma, of Butler, ran into the back of an Acura, the police report states. The Acura was pushed into a Kia Optima stopped to make a turn onto Ranalli Drive, police said.

Police identified the Acura driver as Anna Mnuskin, 51, of Blawnox, and the Kia driver as Mary Gault, 51, of Gibsonia.


Rear-End Collision at Route 910-Route 8 Intersection

When the light changed to green on Route 8 in Richland Township on June 26, a 21-year-old Bakerstown resident hit her Honda Fit's accelerator and ran into the back of the vehicle in front of her, police said.

Emily Starr was at the Route 910 intersection about 1 p.m. when she ran into a Toyota RAV4 driven by Anne Wu, 37, of San Jose, CA, according to the police report.

 

Collision at Intersection of Route 19 and Bradford Road

Two vehicles collided about 10:45 a.m. June 26 at the intersection of Route 19 and Bradford Road in Pine Township, police said.

Charlotte Kimball, 62, of Ambridge, told police her Chevrolet Malibu was heading south on Route 19/Perry Highway when two cars pulled in front of her to make left turns, according to the police report.

She said she could not stop in time to avoid both and struck a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta driven by 44-year-old Judy Masucci, of Wexford, police said.

Masucci told police she had a green light but was unsure if she had a left-turn green arrow when she made the left onto Bradford behind another vehicle, according to the police report.

 

Three-Vehicle Chain Reaction on Route 19 in Pine

A 59-year-old South Carolina resident looked down at his directions about 5 p.m. June 24 and ran into the back of another vehicle on Route 19 in Pine Township, setting off a chain reaction, police said.

Kimwood Partenheimer was traveling south on Perry Highway in a 2009 Ford Explorer when he realized the traffic in front of him was stopped between Brown and Lake roads, police said.

He ran into the back of a 1999 Saturn Sedan driven by Sandra Bartolicius, 65, of Pittburgh, which pushed into a Chrysler driven by 61-year-old Linda Boeh, of Pittsburgh, according to the police report.

McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority transported Bartolicius, to UPMC Passavant Hospital, but no details were available on her injuries, according to the police report.

Vehicle Runs Into Side of Truck Making Wide Turn on Route 8

A 2012 Ford Escape ran into the side of a truck making a wide turn onto Cook Road from Route 8 in Richland Township about 8 a.m. June 15, according to a Northern Regional police report.

Police identified the driver of the Ford as 34-year-old Peter Mussomeli, of Pittsburgh.

Michael Sharp, 55, of Port Vue, PA, drove the 2006 Navistar 4300 truck, police said.
