Traffic Blotter: Details Released for Head-On Collision on Route 910; Other Accidents Reported

Northern Regional Police Department supplied the following information.

 released details this week of an Aug. 15 head-on collision on Route 910 near Karrington Woods plan in Pine Township.

Michael P. Jackson, 30, of Tarentum told police he “blacked out and did not remember anything” about the 7:30 p.m. collision near the intersection with Karrington Drive, the police report states.

Two witnesses told police that the 1989 Pontiac 6000 that Jackson was driving had crossed over the double yellow lines a couple of times prior to colliding with a 2006 Honda Accord, according to the report.

Lisa Olesinski, 29, of Verona was driving the Honda, said police.

The  freed Jackson from the vehicle, police said. McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance transported him and a passenger, 19-year-old Amelia Rouse of Gibsonia, to Allegheny General Hospital, the report states.

 towed both vehicles.

Olesinski “had minor bruising to her stomach, and marks on her arms,” said police. She was transported to St. Margaret’s Hospital.”

 

Wexford Woman Runs Into Back of Lincoln

Megan Hoot, 22, of Wexford was traveling west on Warrendale Road in a 2003 Hyundai sedan Aug. 21 when the vehicle in front of her slowed to turn right onto Dean Road in Pine Township, police said.

Hoot skidded on the wet road and rear-ended [a 2009 Lincoln MKZ] as it was making a turn onto Dean,” the police report said.

Eileen Drury, 44, of Wexford was driving the Lincoln, said police.

 

Collision at Route 910 Entrance to Northtowne Square

Franklin Petrusik, 19, of Sarver told police his vehicle slid on the wet road and hit another vehicle about 10:15 a.m. Aug. 19 as he rounded the curve on the Route 910 entrance to Northtowne Square in Richland Township, police said.

The front left bumper of his 1996 Ford F-150 hit a 2008 Acura MDX that Daniel Shoenthal, 33, of Gibsonia was driving, the report said.

 

Vehicles Collide When One Makes Left Turn

Two vehicles collided Aug. 19 at the intersection of Warrendale Road/Red Belt and Treesdale Drive in Pine Township, according to Northern Regional Police Department.

Toni Mamajek, 47, of Gibsonia told police she was stopped at a stop sign on Treesdale Drive at about 12:45 p.m., waiting to turn left onto Warrendale Road, the report said.

“She observed [a 2004 Chevrolet] traveling west on Warrendale with its right-turn signal activated,” the report stated. “She proceeded to make a left turn onto Warrendale and was struck by [the truck].”

Sylvan Easler, 76, of Allison Park was driving the truck, said police.

McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority check Mamajek for minor left leg abrasions and cuts on her arms from window glass, the report said.

Mazda Runs into Back of Honda on Route 910

A Mazda traveling Route 910 on Aug. 18 ran into the back of a Honda Pilot that had stopped to turn onto Reynolds Road, police said.

Victoria Wilk, 53, of Gibsonia “stated she was distracted and took her eyes off of the roadway,” the police report said.

Wilk’s 2000 Mazda MPV ran into a 2004 Honda Pilot that Megan Shusko, 42, of Jeannette was driving, police said.

[Shusko] said she was stopped in the westbound lane about 15 seconds, attempting to turn left onto Reynolds, said police.
