Three Arrested on DUI Charges During Roving Patrol

Three people were arrested on DUI charges Friday when the North Hills DUI Task Force conducted a roving patrol detail in , and Marshall townships and Bradford Woods Borough, police announced.

The patrol conducted 44 traffic stops for vehicle code violations and seven individuals were administered field sobriety tests, according to a press release from Northern Regional Police Officer Scott Rick, project coordinator.

Of those tested, three were arrested for DUI, he said.

The North Hills DUI Task Force is composed of officers from the police departments of [Pine, Richland, Marshall, Bradford Woods], Etna, Indiana, O’Hara, Ross, Shaler, West Deer and West View.

The roving patrol was held in conjunction with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration Checkpoint Strike Force.

Other arrests made Friday:

one person was arrested for possession with intent to deliver,

one person was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and

one person was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

One citation was issued for driving under suspension – DUI related and 27 citations or warnings were issued for vehicle code violations.

This is the 16th year for the North Hills DUI Task Force. To date, 156 checkpoints/roving patrols have been conducted and 1,596 individuals have been tested for DUI. Of those tested, 698 have been arrested.
