Tarentum Woman Charged with Stealing Food from Shop 'n Save

A preliminary hearing is set for a Tarentum woman charged with stealing food from in Richland Mall, according to a police report.

Kathy A. Wagoner, 43, will appear Feb. 8 before Magisterial District Judge Suzanne R. Blaschak on a felony count of retail theft.

The store's loss prevention officer stopped Wagoner about noon Jan. 12 after he observed her place pork, bacon, chipped ham, BP Franks and ravioli, worth $43.88, in a large brown handbag.

The loss prevention officer told police he detained Wagoner after she went through the cash register line and purchased other items.

A check of her Wagoner's criminal history showed five prior retail theft guilty pleas, according to police states.
